Sofia “Soap” Ramirez is a Camp Quest alum and volunteer for CQ Kansas City and CQ Northwest. She immigrated from Guatemala as a child and is one of only a handful of people of color active in the Camp Quest community. She is a beloved counselor, leader of songs, and bringer of spontaneous joy!

When a radio evangelist predicted the end of the world in 2011, Jami assisted in the Rapture Relief Campaign, which led to the creation of Camp Quest NorthWest. They have been on the organizing team since and serve as the board’s secretary.

As a parent and volunteer, Janie has seen Camp Quest’s transformative power firsthand. We’re proud to have her and the Oyakawas in our Camp Quest family.

Brooke’s story is a testament to the transformative power of Camp Quest, and we’re excited to share some highlights from our conversation as she heads into the camp season and visits several Camp Quest camps including Texas, Ohio, North, Michigan, and Northwest.
