Camp Quest Newsletter

February 2025 Newsletter
Camp Quest recently hosted a Radio Weekend, where youth and adults dove into the world of amateur radio. From hands-on experiences with ham radio to a field trip to KTQA studio, campers learned everything from broadcasting to creating their own radio dramas. Volunteers, including some who were studying for their technician and general licenses, contributed to the event’s success. Plus, there’s new swag in the works for Summit 2024, and camp registration is now open for summer 2025! Donations to the Campership Fund are also being encouraged to ensure all kids have the chance to attend camp, regardless of financial situation.
Check out the full update and exciting new designs, plus upcoming events!

How We Holiday
We asked the Camp Quest board and staff (ourselves) what we do for the holidays. Here’s what we had to say!

August 2024 Newsletter
Camp Quest’s latest summer sessions across the U.S. featured unique themes like time, music, secret agents, and dystopias. Activities included canyon formation experiments, music creation from recycled materials, spy training, and mock dystopian governments. Campers enjoyed outdoor adventures, critical thinking games, and making lasting memories.

July 2024 Newsletter
After thirteen years of accumulating supplies and filling up a storage unit, Camp Quest Chesapeake’s theme was chosen to make the most of supplies they already had on hand while teaching campers about consumption, climate change, and creativity. Activities included recycled bottle rockets, a cardboard boat building competition, and instruments made out of recyclable materials.

June 2024 Newsletter
In a fun-filled car themed week in June, campers enjoyed lower than normal temperatures for Texas as they observed Festivus, constructed cardboard cars, and boogied down at the annual dance! Camp Quest Texas has a vibrant culture that includes singing, skits, and chants, with a special dinner song that adds to the sense of identity and pride among campers and staff.
